Live From Daryl's House.

I've been a fan of this webTV show for a long time, and apparently it's now available on the Palladia Channel, which I'm not sure I get on my satellite service. A heavily edited version was syndicated on local broadcast stations while back, but not sure if it's still out there. (the edited versions sucked)

So now they are using the Personus instead of whatever they were using before. I wonder how this will effect the production quality ... the sound quality ... and the workflow of the engineer.

Here's a link to the Personus promo article and video with the engineer:

Here's a link to the webTV site, which has been online for years. Enjoy some of the shows. There are probably several shots of the "control room" scattered about showing the previous console, but I don't remember ....

I'm a Todd Rundgren fan. Check the archives for episode 40.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I wonder if the mics are split and sent to different pres for the recording and to the StudioLive for monitor mixes. If not, the Presonus would need some sort of post pre amp/pre everything else patch, no?

The article says "Audio is recorded live to multitrack, taking the output of the StudioLive into Alesis HD24XR hard-disk recorders"

http://www.presonus.com/products/Studio ... 2/features

* 24 pre-insert, balanced direct outputs

Just saw this preview of Universal Control 1.7. I am REALLY looking forward to playing with this stuff on the Presonus 16.4.2 I use with my wife's vocal group (http://www.7thvoice.net).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMKapFSJna0

Description:
"PreSonus Universal Control 1.7, which will be released soon, will add three Smaart® System Analysis Wizards to Virtual StudioLive—for free! These System Analysis Wizards include a Smaart Room Analysis Wizard, Smaart Output Check Wizard, and Smaart System Delay Wizard for StudioLive™ 24.4.2 and 16.4.2 consoles. Of course, you still get the Smaart Spectragraph and Smaart Real Time Analyzer (RTA) that were added to VSL earlier this year, and they work with all three StudioLive models."
