Yeah, I really liked his reply - "Oh well." That attitude is the complete opposite of the developer of Show Cue Systems (a sound and video playback and show control program I use), himself a one-man shop. A bug is reported and he typically will have traced the problem and come up with a solution within a day.

I think Bob's just stopped doing any fixes or development of SAC.

Yeah, QLab is the same way. Although not technically a one man shop anymore, I suspect Chris still does the majority of the code writing himself. Mike Daniels is a good guy. I've been trying to get him to work on putting more live mixing stuff into SCS in conjunction with SM-S, but it's a long road to hoe and I suspect it will likely never progress past simple audio routing tasks one might need along side audio playback. Sorry for the tangent...

He's been working for quite some time on integration with SM-S. I've personally never been attracted to SM-S because of the lack of a GUI. SM-S always seemed geared towards programming guys rather than people needing to mix.

Well the point of SM-S is that there is no GUI. So third parties can create ones that meet their needs. With a couple of changes there is no reason SM-S could not mix a show. Someone just needs to write the GUI for it, which I've been trying to get various parties to do for quite some time now.

Loren's audio engine is just as good as Bobs. He just needs to add a few things to make it work.
