Not many shows that come with more pressure than this. Definitely not a SAC gig!

This is from Waterloo, IA this past Tuesday.

Did you wear your "The Government didn't build my small business, I did" shirt? :)

Well, last time I checked, the government DID build the bridge I hung that flag on, and drove across to get to the park that I set up on to make my paycheck.

They did subsidize the fuel that went into the generators that gave me power to make my show work. At the end of the day, I got a fair paycheck.
Oh yeah, I paid less taxes the last 4 years than the previous 8 as well. I am also happy the stock market almost DOUBLED since he took office. And that little medical insurance thing that I don't have to worry about anymore (as a small business that has to pay for my own - with pre-existing conditions) - that really makes me happy.

As if that wasn't enough, the guy knows how to really WORK a microphone. Always a pleasure mixing him.

Not really wanting a political debate, but did you see that guy who did that? I gotta say, no matter how I feel about the current administration, if I were getting paid to do a job for them, I wouldn't wear that shirt...

I've worked a few Presidential speeches before, the biggest being Gerald Ford announcing his candidacy in the race he lost to Jimmy Carter. (argue about those two political messes. :D )

But at that gig I was not allowed back in to the venue for the tear down and load out until after the Presidential motorcade left the building. Did not have the secret hand shake to get past the Secret Service guys. Waited about an hour. Everyone was ticked off at me.

Actually, I just wouldn't do the job if I couldn't deal with them. I turned down many shows in the last election cycle. Turns out I was right as people that did do them never got paid for some of them.

Frankly, I have no loyalities when it comes to work. I just want to get paid and do a good job. However, if I heard about someone not paying up, I wouldn't work for them.

But I got my payment

Some of them seem to think if they don't win the election, they shouldn' t have to pay their bills.
