Interesting. Thanks for moving that discussion over to here.

Brett - just curious: Does your system have integrated video or a separate graphics card. I have a theory that my SAC problems on a T500 stem from integrated graphics.

Brett left this forum. You won't get in touch with him over here.

I guess hand assembly code isn't always the fastest huh?

Imagine that....

Updates on AMP are almost as fast as updates on SAC...

I'd love to know when this software is to be released. With that kind of performance...latency and E-drum issues are a thing of the past. It's been about 8 months since I contacted the developers about a release date. I believe they mentioned some time late 2014?

Brett's posts are VERY encouraging

Funny. But in this case.. have to say.. you're full of crap. :)

There have been several updates just in the past 3 months already.. and this Bob actually listens to customers. Or at least the ones that got into the Beta program. Unfortunately there are way too many that got into the beta program but are not doing shit, not testing and not even reading the private forum. And one of the the silent ones who shall remain nameless was also an unfortunate choice because he is a direct conduit to Bob L. So I'm sure Bob L is watching what Bob P is doing.

I have spoken on the phone to Bob P. about planned release times. He was still on the fence. On one hand he wants to get something out there. On the other... he wants it to be "right" before he releases it. I would also tend towards being cautious myself as I have personally seen first hand what happens when a software developer puts something out that is not ready for prime time. Of course in that case there was a huge user base already as it was a rewrite to a popular piece of software. But it's informative to watch how fast a user base dries up if you put out buggy crap.

So far the bugs have been few and far between. It's more a question of feature set and what to get done before you put it out in the world. But then again we don't have Joe testing yet. :D

I suspect it will be at least at the point where I will try it out on a show by this fall whether or not it's released by that time.

I hope they do get it out soon. I think he's over thinking it personally. It seems stable from what you and Brett have said. I just keep seeing stuff like the post at the end of the Brett's thread where someone has e-mailed them with no response.

No I don't think he is over thinking it. Yeah it seems pretty stable but there are still a fair number of things (features) that need to be added and/or worked out before I would release it. (if it was my call anyway) There are more reasons than testing and stability that I have not used it in the field yet. I don't really feel at liberty to say what those are right now, but let's just say some fairly important stuff (to me) is not done yet.

Better to wait than put out something half baked don't you think?

The good and the bad is that Bob P is actually a working professional, not the occasional once or twice a year (if that often) in the field of someone else we know. That means he is actually using his product on a regular basis. But it also means he is not just sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring or answering email all day. I won't argue that eventually he will need to do something about answering email in a more timely fashion.

Thanks for the updates on this platform. I've been wondering about it. SAC has been working fine for me on my many down-and-dirty theater productions (8 last Fall and 9 this Spring) but its well-documented limitations coupled with no foreseeable improvements have me considering searching for alternatives, both hardware and software based. How AMP implements Scenes is of particular interest to me.
