I've personally been through several updates in the past 22 days and the first large scale musical I am mixing with AMP opens on Friday.

Let us know how that goes. Since theater productions is one of my primary uses for SAC I am very interested in seeing how AMP performs.

It has already been running Title of Show for me at another theatre for almost 4 weeks now. The only issue I had really was when the FOH remote laptop's battery died, it kept turning off. Why the laptop died when the battery went completely caput I have no idea, but it did. We yanked the battery and all was fine. (it's an old laptop, the battery had done it's job)

So far I have trained 2 of my ops with AMP, that have both mixed shows for me with SAC and they both like it a lot better. I have a sub taking over for Title of Show this weekend that has never mixed with either, so we'll how that goes.

I've seen that happen now and again, especially with older laptops. When the battery gets so bad it won't hold a charge it can start to pull too much current from the power supply, and there's not enough power to (try to) charge the battery while running the laptop, so the laptop shuts down. Pulling the battery does the trick every time, and a new battery is usually all that's needed. Of course, it's an easy excuse to get a new laptop, too ;)

Yeah, this laptop has served it's purpose, it has a few bad lines on the screen and there is no point in spending the money on a battery. I only use it for remote on AMP/SAC. Most days it's just for the A2 anyway. I'm probably going to start keeping my eyes open for those really tiny format PCs that are Mac Mini shaped. And use those for the AMP GUI as AMP really likes to run as a true server and have the GUIs off the host.
