SD8 Remote App

Postby jlepore » Mon Dec 30, 2013 2:23 am

Want to see a remote app done right - check out the "offline editor" for the Digico SD8. If you run multiple copies on multiple machines, they network and sync up with each other, so you can see how they work when they're online.

Just finished writing my whole show and then was able to play with it live from my tablet (all without ever seeing the physical desk of course). Very cool layout - friendly for both mouse and tablet pen. This is what I will be doing my national NYE show on. I'm looking forward to using the only major manufacturer desk that I haven't used yet - and it looks like it's gonna be kinda fun!

Not sure if it will beat the Midas "space shuttle launcher" XL8, but it looks like it's gonna give it a run for it's money!

Good to know. I might have a chance to design a musical on an SD8 in a few months. I'll have to download the app to check it out.

My show was only 30 min from my shop but It looks like Dr John in the photo and that would have been more fun than mine. The last 3 shows we have done at this Casino were all national acts except this one a Rat Pack (tribute?) show . O well as I said it was an early night and I got to have drinks with Frank Sammy and Dean
Doesen't look like his normal band or their have been changes in the last couple years or the picture is just a little fuzzy and my OLD eyes aren't as good anymore

Yes, it's the good doctor with the same basic band for the last year or so - we had a sub on bass for this one-off.

I think I did the rat pack show a few years ago in Iowa on NYE. They were cool but their hired horns were absolute .. well, union musicians!

Just because they were union doesn't make them bad musicians.

ok .. you had to go there....

No, it doesn't automatically make them bad - they were just a bunch of whiny snots. They didn't like cold drafts on stage during load in and threatend to walk off if we didn't stop the other act from loading in (it was december of course). After that whole argument, it was break time of course - right at the beginning of their pre-scheduled soundcheck/rehersal time. It was only when they got back that we figured out half of them couldn't play the charts they had been sent the week before. - did I mention they were all classic standards from the 50's?

Sadly, that's pretty standard up here - we always have to play the "which mic's are good enough to use, and which stay muted the entire performance" game. On a good day, you may get to use up to 70% of what you are paying for.
