The simple answer is that we actually have every major type of health system in the world all at action at the same time in the US. And we let corporations have way too much say in our politics. Hence the mess...

For a good overview of the US health system read "The Healing of America" by T R Reid. Probably the best overview of all major health systems on the planet and most through explanation of why ours is so fucked up.

Sorry for the injection of the 3rd rail.... politics...

Awww... too bad, the thread is now gone... wonder if DF himself realized how silly it made him look and asked to have it taken down, or if Bob L just was showing mercy of if Mr. Forum cop bugged Bob again off forum until he took it down just to shut him up? :-)

He did look pretty silly there for a while. Its always fun poking the bear over there.

I'm surprised I didn't get permabanned for outright calling him a fool.

Now we know, though, why Bugs Bunny always made that wrong turn at Albuquerque... it's a reality distortion field down there.

What am I to do without my daily dose of Tenacious D? I guess I'll have to go back to reading archived The Far Side comics.
