The next thread to go will probably be this one.

Before it does, somebody should let people know that Brett's plugin page is still available at:

The page is still there, but the content is gone.

Posting the link now would surely get someone banned... so if that's what you're up for...

It was more to get the actual message out - it was just updated to reflect the current status.
It will remove all speculation on what his motives were.

yes I know ... Bob certainly doesn't want customers to be able to post any truth...

Of course I do have to ask ... what is the problem with getting "banned" from there? It's not like there's any support, new releases, or anything else. If anything, I use that forum as a source of amusement.

I still get updates (assuming there ever are any). The day I get locked out of the updates that I've paid for is the day I assume he has breached the sales contract with me and I post all my versions publicly for anyone to download.

It is probably way too late for that. The way I originally heard about SAC was from a friend who had 'bought' SAC 1.2 for $5 on a download site. 1.3 was the current version at the time. A couple of years ago he offered me the RML plugins. He had them all as well as SAWStudio Full in what, as I recall, was the current version at the time.

I had a post taken down once when I listed a Google search to prove to a previous poster why the validity of the license for a copy of SAC offered on the web at too attractive a price should be confirmed with Bob.

That forum comes up very high in search results. If you use your real name, it shows up high enough in the list that it's good to keep things civil, at least.

Add this one to the list... maybe...

This thread just reminds me of the old saying that the definition of insanity is asking the same question over and over again and expecting a different result.

Although I don't approve of software theft, this doesn't surprise me at all considering that Bob has zero copy protection on any of his software. Of course unlike most other software companies he also expect you the end user to maintain your own archive of back versions in case you need to roll back for some reason.

Bob was busy yesterday - at least at policing his site. There were two threads deleted yesterday. One was PhaseShifter's asking about Mixer View, the other was Microstudio's silly thread about wanting Brett Brandon's Shades for free. They live in on (my) memory only.
