Ok Where'd it go?

Postby tatkin » Wed Jan 21, 2015 7:36 pm

So I was reading posts on 'the other forum' and there was one about Lenovo 2 Yoga as a remote... I could have sworn that RBIngram posted a couple of responses... but... strangely enough they are now missing

I assume that talking about modern UI design and characteristics just isn't welcome there! I thought he had some good points!

Yeah our friendly self apointed forum cop probably went off crying to the principle about how I dared to use sarcasim, since it is against the rules of engagement.

So glad I don't really give a crap about SAC and all its BS any longer.

Maybe we should just send him a new stylus and a new pair of glasses. Of course with the magnifying glasses you probably can't see the stage so you don't know who's saying or doing what... and darn... I dropped my stylus (Again).

I think a usable tablet UI would be a better solution. :geek:

Well... don't know... the forum police may let it slip by since he only expressed there was a demand (was that screen shot a suggestion  - Couldn't be a competitors product that would violate the rules).

Of course it really will be a moot point since there is active work taking place on "on the new touch view screens... making all new views to fit" which I'm sure will be out with the next release - any day now :P . Oh... and we already have the great Magnifier App which we can use at any time.

Of Course there's the: "But... I am still a believer in a 24 in or larger screen at 1920 or higher resolution with a good mouse and keyboard... then I can fly around the interface." Want to see someone carry that around as a portable touch screen...

If I went and looked for some of my posts back when Sac first came out, myself and a couple others, were trying to tell him to make an app for the ipad(or tablet whatever), and what I was describing was almost identical to what the X32 app looks like. If he would just freakin listen to the people that use this stuff, he would've been way ahead of the game.. but no.. still to this day he is way out of touch and missed the boat bigtime. I can't believe they are still expecting anything over there.. sad.

I believe that I've finally come to the conclusion that if he were capable of such work, he'd actually do it. Based on the changes I've seen made over the four years or so that I've owned SAC, I have no idea whether Bob could implement those ideas. After all, he seems really slow implementing the things that are at the top of his list. I don't know how much of the coding (especially UI stuff) in SAC that Bob did himself or had employees do (back in the day when he had employees), but I really get the impression that more of SAC was written by someone else than he cares to admit. I could be completely wrong; but given the lack of progress on SAC (especially these past two years) I can only come to the conclusion that Bob's ability to extend it is limited.

When Bob released the SAC beta, he had brought almost the entire UI over from SAWStudio. All he had to do was eliminate the "tracks" themselves. The surround pan area of the modules is a holdover from that. There is hardly anything original to SAC in all of that. Over time, he's added menu items and stuff, but the UI has been mainly unchanged from SAW. But as to your theory of his writing the original UI - I wasn't a SAW32 or SAWStudio user back then, so I don't know.
