Seriously?

You write a post including enough incendiary comments to ensure that it gets yanked so you quickly take a snapshot, so when it does get taken down you can come over here to post it to continue the "Bob is a jerk" narrative.

Come on Richard, that was about as subtle as a sledgehammer.

When he continues to use the word "complaint" to describe a feature request which was a bandaid to missing functionality.... yes I do. Would you go up to an artist and say hey you complained about your wedge mix so I fixed it for you? No I doubt it... I made that mistake once when I was young, cocky and stupid and it almost cost future work. Say what you want, but picking your words is important.

And sorry but I did just point out to him that his web site was fucked up and was showing outdated information. Was there even a suggestion... of hey... thanks for pointing that out? Nope... just talked to me like I had done something wrong in finding it.

Yeah, its not subtle, but I am just giving back the treatment we all recieved pretty much from day one, if you didn't kiss his ass. Let me ask this. Do you see anything in my comments that is not pretty much the truth?

I'm sorry, but I have to side with Richard on this one. :protest:
Me and Richard don't quite see eye to eye on everything but what I do respect him for is his experience and more than that, he's not afraid to call a spaid a spaid.
I'm not into calling Bob a jerk, and I don't believe Richard is either. Sometimes the truth just hurts. Do you realize it is well over a year since the last update release (nothing but fix's).
If you can look past the Bob's a hero attitude and listen to what Richard is saying, it's been nothing but the truth...

I love how the final result of the sanitized thread makes it look like he took the request seriously. Another "added to the list" (of things I will never do and you can never talk about again).

All I can say I felt nothing but confidence over the past months running AMP for national acts - something I never feel anymore if I have to run SAC. Last night was Robbie Kreiger (legendary Doors guitarist). It was a hardchoice ... SAC, AMP, or an M7 .... yeah - ok .. not that hard!

Brett

It's only been that long???
It's been at least a year since I gave up hope on another SAC release ever occurring (at least, with additional functionality).

Bottom line is that if I stay in this business, I'll be going to a GLD system to replace SAC.
The big problem I have with SAC to this day is that I can't send it out without me also being present. Every time I do that I get calls from my sound crew with yet another problem. One of my sound guys has a QU-24; I often let him use his own board when he does B-rig jobs for me so that I don't have to deal with SAC problems popping up in the field. Granted, learning the GLD is not trivial, but I suspect I won't have anywhere near the training issues I have with SAC (not to mention guest engineers;and it's also possible to hire people who already have GLD experience -- not so much with SAC).
Cheers,
Randy Hyde
