Wow... it really is almost at junk bond status...

Down to $100. And another poor user is practically giving away SAW with plug ins.

That's a SAC 3 license with no plugs. Given the "need " to update it for it to be current, you'd be at $200 after update. That's a little shy of 50% of retail, so probably is priced about right.

SAC has always been a bit underpriced from what it should be (maybe not for what it actually IS) so now, an old license is basically worthless financially.

Still. That's lower than I've ever seen anyone willing to part with it before. Yeah the "update" has lowered the value to those that didn't buy into that but even so... it's been a pretty quick fall from the time when you could easily get half the initial cost and probably more like $300 to $400 even without plugs. That time really was only perhaps 2 years ago. To me that's a pretty quick fall from grace.

I do agree that I think SAC was a bit inexpensive and like Figure 53 did with QLab, set the bar for what these products cost too low.

AMP is more expensive but you don't have to spend any additional money to get reverb, comps on outputs, midi control of scene recalls (a huge expense with SAC if that's all you really wanted SAW for), multi-track recording, playback, etc...

I'll let you know if it is worth $100 :-).

Seriously, I don't really care about the money and wouldn't be bothering to try and sell it if we weren't trying to raise as much money as possible for our cause. It is actually pretty surprising that Bob willingly allows for the transfer of licenses as that's seems pretty non-standard in the software world.

Can you sell an Amp license and entitle the purchaser to whatever upgrades are provided? Probably too new to worry about that yet.

We certainly got more than our money's worth out of Sac so even if it doesn't sell I can't complain.

Fair point, I got money's worth... just wouldn't spend any more at this point....

I don't think Bob P plans on allowing license transfers, however since it uses a hardware key, there is less worry that someone could run more than what they paid for. And someone could just sell their keys.

Apparently underpriced at $100.00.

Why? You sold it? Or the posting was removed for you?

I've got two SAC licenses.
I'll probably be selling one off later this year (or next year, depending on the Christmas sale price).
Not really in any hurry to sell, but I'm selling off my A rig and sticking with B-rig gigs (too much work for what has become too little pay in my area to do full productions anymore).

Besides, I now have a copy of AMP to play with, so I really don't need three LAW licenses lying around.

On a completely different subject, I've ordered most of the parts to build myself a mondo control surface (most likely for AMP, as I doubt Bob L will ever produce any sort of API for generic control surfaces that would be appropriate for what I want to build). I now have enough motorized faders, LED buttons, shaft encoders, and CPUs (same as the Arduino plus a Raspberry Pi) to get started on the 32-channel/3-bank/4-layer board. Headed into crisis mode at work and that will keep me busy for the next couple of months, but as spare time allows I can start wiring things up.

Cheers,
Randy Hyde
P.S. BTW, found a great "Makerspace" local to me in Riverside (vocademy.com). 3D printers, laser cutter, thermoplastic formers, mill, lathe, welding, and woodshop -- so I've got access to all the tools to build this thing.

Got two offers straight away. Sold it to the first, emailed Bob asking to transfer my license and he transferred it immediately.
