Looks interesting. Hopefully they are as interested in their own engine as they are in just being remotes for other products.

They built there own engine first. It is out now and working well. I have installed it and the GUI on the same computer I run SAC with. I like it a lot.

The intent is not to be a remote for other products but to be a GUI for other products. (Different look and feel and features then the native product.)

How is the scene control? The Cue List looks good but I also see "recall safe" there on the screen. And to me that is what I call the "Yamaha method". So I'm hoping they didn't just follow what the typical Yamaha does, as that usually sucks. :-)

Although the fact that clearly their screen shots are from Beauty and the Beast is encouraging.

Very interesting. How are monitors handled?

The author took ideas from everywhere. If someone never uses "recall safe" then a couple of minutes with the English language API and it is gone. Monitors like everything else are handled prity much any way you want to. For example, either as Auxes, or as separate mixers. (Push of a button to chose) or both. (Example, Auxes on the FOH mixer, separate mixers for half the band and Behringer BCR2000 for the other half. He has a church that has a Behringer BCR2000 for each member of the worship team right now.

32 Aux Sends (each with separate tap points, and 3-band flex-EQ per Aux)

Here is the FAQ
http://audiomixingplatform.com/faqs/

It is hard to get your head around this thing because we are used to a lot of rules. Now for example, when you look at a channel you have choices, not rules Do you want that channel to be a input or a output, or a output that is a input to other channels. Do you want EQ on the output or not? and on and on.

Interesting. The FAQ is vague, of course.

It's cool that there's competition now.

Does anyone know if it supports plugins? I didn't see anything in the FAQ.

At this moment it doesn't support plugins. I know that is a goal.

Okay, so side by side with SAC who wins in what areas? What are AMP's current shortcomings aside from plugin support? Does it have all the basic effects built in?
